About this event

Early November marks the gateway of the summer season in Guatemala giving us crisp daylight hours and soft balmy evenings. Together we will move through the potent time portal of Día de los Muertos or Halloween celebrating life & death through local traditions of honoring ancestors. You will have the opportunity to participate in traditional workshops with indigenous teachers -- fire ceremony, tobacco ritual, temescal sweat, and mayan cosmovision with cacao. Integration through daily movement and meditation classes is provided and encouraged to support personal illumination. This is a week for you to remember elemental embodiment, soul essence and the art of alchemy.

Personal Mayan calendar or tarot readings, limpiezas or bodywork sessions are available upon request or as add-ons.

You will enjoy meals prepared on site with organic conscious cuisines sourced through local farms. Family style brunch and dinner are included, and you will be walking distance from town if you want to grab a bite in between.

Plenty of free time is included for your own explorations - day trips to other towns for shopping, enjoying the lake via paddleboard or kayak, trampoline, or simply napping in a hammock! Hiking in the nature reserve Tzankujil is adjacent to the property and can be accessed easily.

Lush’s private beach area and dock is situated right next to the sauna and includes a natural solar heated plunge pool. It can be enjoyed anytime during the day for all guests. The wood burning sauna is included 2x per week for 2 hours.

Elegant accommodations, each room unique, offers rejuvenation space for 22 guests -- we are so excited to welcome you to connect with the land and each other.

Transportation to and from the airport is provided.

Each ticket offers: 6 nights/7 days, 2 meals day, 3 immersion workshops, 14 integration classes, 2 saunas, airport transportation, all hotel amenities and TBD surprises...

About the retreat hosts:

Daniel Garcia, co-owner of Lush, was born and raised around the Lake and is pleased to introduce his home and lineage to his guests. He will also be translating for the guides of the 3 workshops. Annika, his partner, is facilitating hospitality and will support all your travel needs and questions. @el.suchi @annika_wildrose

Janet DeHart will be guiding daily movement, meditation classes and sound journeys. Her first visit to Guatemala was February 2020 and it is her pleasure to welcome you back with her. Janet and Daniel met on pilgrimage in Egypt December 2019. @janetmdehart

Note: Ticket price is per bed. If you are sharing a bed, purchase 1 full price and second ticket/person 60% cost with code: COSLEEP. For shared space arrangements or questions contact me directly janetdehart@gmail.com. Airfare is not included but flight booking support is offered. Refunds are considered on a case by case basis.

The Sound Healing Symphony at Sunset

Experience the perfectly peaceful afternoon— this is the regeneration of our soothing sound baths. This time, better than ever. Join us by signing up HERE

About this event

Join us for the regeneration. 'The Sound Healing Symphony' is back!

This is a beautiful, outdoor event— we're going to create the perfect afternoon, culminating in a proper concert at sunset.

The nature at this East Bay is beautiful— rolling hills and gorgeous groves of trees. Just walking up to the venue is lovely. We’re going to turn the groves into gong sanctuaries you can lay back and relax in, a silent disco you can dance to, and a perfect spot for a picnic and tea.

Once we've connected and celebrated as a community, we will gather in the amphitheater to experience 'The Sound Healing Symphony', right at sunset.

The venue is only 24 - 40 minutes from San Francisco. 12 minutes from Oakland center.

Experiences—

“The Sound Healing Symphony”

Our soothing ensemble is a convergence of some of the west coast’s best meditative musicians. We come together in harmony to elucidate your deepest state of clarity, soothe away your worries, and bring you closer to your heart.

Led by Guy Douglas, and featuring an array of amazing & talented musicians on gongs, crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, Native American flutes, Didgeridoo, Celtic Harp, Monochord, Vibraphone and so much —

Guy Douglas {gongs, crystal bowls}

Guy Douglas, co-founder of Sound Meditation SF, is a Sound Healing Practitioner/gongmaster. He has been involved with the healing power of music his whole life from many different perspectives: writing, recording, producing and performing. He has studied sound healing techniques & the eastern philosophy of music, which helps clear dormant pathways to open the heart.

Sarah Glass {vocals & monochord}

Sarah started classical piano lessons at the age of 3, and the first 7 years of her lessons were entirely dedicated to ear-training. Sarah plays harp, percussion, guitar, voice, mandolin, sitar, and also specializes in live sound engineering and audio recording. She is the founder of a music school, with the goal of helping people of all ages (from infancy to old age) express themselves freely through music.

Vlademir Cardema {didgeridoo & Native American Flute}

Vlad is a sound healer and instrument builder, who discovered the didge 18 years ago in SF. Before coming to America, he served in the Israel Defense Force where he found himself pointing guns at Palestinian kids. Today Vlad points the didgeridoos he makes at kids thru bread and roses.

Simona Marie Asinovski {crystal singing bowls}

Co-founder of Sound Meditation SF, Simona learned about sound healing from Guy six years ago. She speaks about the practice of sound meditation and is dedicated to sharing it with as many as possible.

The Gong Sanctuary

Relax and lay down beneath the sun, release all your worries in a soothing gong bath. We'll be running 30 minute deep dives every hour!

Loriel Starr {gong}

Loriel Starr is a Certified Sound Healing Practitioner and a graduate of The California Institute of Integral Studies “Sound, Voice, and Music in the Healing Arts Program”. Loriel’s sound meditation events, sound bath events and private practice are inspired by the power of Sound to support healing, well-being and self-discovery.

Danny Golberg {gong}

Danny is the creator of ‘The Sound Immersion Experience’, which presents for Stanford’s Be Well Program. He’s been doing this work for the better part of a decade, presenting in retreat centers and festivals all over California. In addition, Danny is the Hike Program Director at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program in Woodside and coordinates nature hikes all over the Santa Cruz mountains that inspire his beautiful landscape paintings on silk.
